Compal will initially ship 200,000 - 300,000 notebook computers to Dell each month, with the aim to deliver 1-2 million low-cost notebook computers to Dell this year, said an unnamed official. "The bottom line is that we are going to enter the market with products that are smaller, lighter and address the more mobile users in a very cost-effective way," Dell Spokeswoman Colleen Ryan was quoted as saying. Both Dell and Compal representatives are not immediately available for comment. Dell is a leading global systems and services company and No. 34 on the Fortune 500.
