A Regional Asia-Routes Development Forum 2008 Macao, hosted by the Macao International Airport Company Ltd, is now discussing new air route development and business opportunities in Apr. 15, 2008 (China Knowledge) - A Regional Asia-Routes Development Forum 2008 Macao, hosted by the Macao International Airport Company Ltd, is now discussing new air route development and business opportunities in air services. More than 400 delegates from major airlines and airports in Asia and Europe attended the three-day event. Macao's aviation sector is still facing challenges of fuel price rise, the increase in security measures resulting in longer queuing time for passengers and the capacity constraints caused by infrastructure issues, although it is going through a healthy growth, said Liu Suning, executive director of Macao International Airport Co. Ltd. The forum, organized as an annual event by the Rout Development Group (RDG) based in the UK, will be the starting point for a great and hopefully productive relationship between the airport marketing people and the airline route developers, according to Liu. She also noted that her own company has started to benefit from these relationships in recent times with the introduction of six new airlines to the local network in the past six months. | |
